Work environment
Just imagine a startup-like adrenalinic team environment but backed by a large multinational company.
We create photonic sensors that can be swept along a telecom fiber to gather smart-city information for security, environment and maintenance. You will work in a development team comprising nuclear, photonic, electronic hardware and software engineers. Occasional field work for system commissioning could be possible.
Responsibilities
Your work will focus on FPGA design for high speed data acquisition and math processing for filtering, interpolation and synthesis, phased-array, passive sonar technologies, noise reduction, data stream compression, neural networks and sound fingerprint classification. Integration of data storage, management and broadcasting in a Linux environment will be also part of your responsibilities, including lean web-based user interface. Your will follow both the development of new products and the upgrade of existing ones, including also testing, debugging and customization tasks.
Requirements
Experience required includes FPGA design (VHDL, Vivado, Eclipse) for SoC such as Xilinx Zinq Ultrascale and Microchip Polarfire, JESD204b interfacing, Linux kernel, Phyton, C++, React and JavaScript programming.
A lab geek instinct for manual work, a nerdy passion for technology, problem solving intuitions and mind flexibility are considered very valuable plus.
Job type
The workplace is in Bologna (Emilia Romagna, Italy) airport area, and remote work (indicatively 25% of the time) may be possible depending on the design stage. The offered position is a full time employee position, however a different arrangement could be discussed.
