Founding Front-End Engineer (TypeScript)

Socialode Inc. is a SaaS startup creating a new type of global friendship network, avoiding the toxic pitfalls of the current state of social media by redefining it from the ground up. With a privacy-first ethos and unique approach to making compelling connections, Socialode helps build and foster real, organic friendships.

Social media culture often exacerbates loneliness and mental health issues by creating a facade of broken privacy connections, leaving users feeling more isolated and disconnected from real, meaningful relationships.

About The Role

We're looking for a Founding Front-End Engineer to help bring Socialode to life. As an early team member, you'll work directly with our hands-on, product-driven CTO to build our platform from the ground up.

This role starts as a part-time (20 hours/week) equity-based position while we raise seed funding, with the expectation of transitioning into a full-time, salaried role as funds become available.

What You’ll Do

Develop and maintain our web front-end and hybrid mobile app using TypeScript.

Build a portable RESTful API client for seamless interactions.

Create an intuitive, high-performance UI with VueJS 3.

Develop a hybrid mobile app using Capacitor or Cordova.

Set up CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployment.

Implement real-time features like WebSocket-based services.

Build an automated testing framework for front-end and end-to-end testing.

Work closely with the founding team, rapidly iterating based on user feedback.

Contribute to our long-term technology roadmap to ensure scalability, security, and reliability.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years as a full-stack developer or software engineer (startup experience preferred).

Proficiency in TypeScript, REST APIs, and VueJS 3.

Strong understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and NoSQL.

Experience with hybrid mobile development (Capacitor or Cordova).

Familiarity with AWS deployments (ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.).

Knowledge of software architecture principles, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.

Experience with real-time communication (WebSockets) and third-party APIs (including Gen AI providers).

Bonus: Experience with scalable database design and mobile app release processes (App Store, Google Play).
