$23.55 - $25.55/hour

Responsibilities

• Perform forging processes on carbon steel and other metals, including closed drop forging, progressive forging, rough forging, block forging, and finish forging.
• Operate board drop hammers, trim presses, and related equipment.
• Execute trimming, restriking, and punching, including the formation of eyes in hammer heads. Perform a sequence of steps for final product shaping and shear forged parts from bars.
• Operate furnaces to maintain steel at preferred temperatures for forging processes.
• Identify and report any faulty operations or defective materials to the supervisor. Ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Meets various hourly production goals
• Maintains a clean work area
• Actively ensures that all safety requirements and procedures are met at all times
• Other duties and project work as assigned by supervisors
  
  

Requirements

• Attention to detail, communication, and maintaining quality while meeting production requirements are essential skills
• Must be able to use standard hand tools, air tools, and power tools
• Ability to calculate, reason, problem solve, and read and write in English
• Frequent standing, walking, gripping, and reaching as well as occasional bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and reaching above shoulder level
• Lifting up to 40 lbs without assistance
