We are looking to continue our steady growth in the industry with the addition of a professional engineer located in Florida, experienced in structural forensics. We have a strong support team that allows our engineers to focus on engineering. This position is remote, requiring travel to site inspections throughout Florida several days per week with the remaining days at home or at our Lakeland office if you choose. Occasional overnights within Florida are possible.


Requirements

  • You must live in Florida, with an active PE license in Florida
  • Bachelor's degree or greater in a Civil Engineering discipline
  • Experience conducting structural forensic engineering investigations
  • Ability to climb on roofs and traverse attics and crawlspaces
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities are a must
  • Ability to work independently or in a 2- or 3-person team
  • Ability to ride/drive in vehicles multiple days per week throughout Florida, with occasional overnight stays
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
  • Clean driving record and criminal history


Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site investigations to determine the cause of failures, damage, or defects to buildings and components
  • Collect field data, photographs, measurements, etc
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to support investigation findings
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients and others
  • Provide testimony regarding your findings in depositions or trials as needed
  • Maintain a clean driving record and operate company vehicles responsibly during fieldwork
  • Maintain a constant level of professionalism and decision making consistent with the Oath of an Engineer
  • Stay current with industry standards, codes, and best practices in structural forensic engineering

Schedule: Monday to Friday


License/Certification:

  • Professional Engineer license (Required)
  • Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, minimum (Required)


Work Location: Remote but must be based in Florida (field days each week throughout the state, work from home remaining days after brief training period)
