Summary

Facilitates effective and clear communication between non-English speaking patients their families and Health System staff.

  • Conducts medical and general interpreting for limited English staff patients and their families.
  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks training and education within the Health System.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $19.49 - $30.21 Hourly

Minimum Requirements

Education: High School or equivalent required. Bridging the Gap Interpreting Course required.

Experience: One year of medical interpreting experience required.

Licensure: Expectation to obtain national credentialing to be recognized as a Certified Medical Interpreter guidelines found in departmental addendum located in department competency file.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires frequently traveling (distance: minimum 1 mile/daily). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
