Completion of the Arkansas Department of Education Manager's Training for Child Nutrition
Successful experience in quality food service operation preferred

Terms Of Employment
The contract length will be 178 days.
Evaluation
Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the food service manager who is assisted by the food service supervisor in regard to evaluations.
Job Goal
The Food Service Assistant Manager will endeavor to assist the food service manager in all aspects of the assigned location’s cafeteria Child Nutrition Program (CNP) operation, providing an environment that supports healthy food habits while maintaining program integrity and customer satisfaction.
Performance Responsibilities
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
Follows all state and federal regulations.
Performs duties as assigned by the manager, including but not limited to: working in extreme temperatures; standing for extended periods of time; lifting fifty (50) pounds without assistance; operating commercial food service equipment, such as convection ovens, fryers, mixers, braising pans, steamers, food processors, and dish machines.
Prepares and serves food as directed by the manager in accordance with health and sanitation standards, and continuously monitors temperatures of food quality standards including appearance and nutritional requirements.
Cleans, as assigned by the manager, including but not limited to working with various household and industrial chemicals such as chlorine bleach, greaser cutter, and/or oven cleaners.
Assists with necessary food service operations during times of emergency.
Assumes responsibilities of serving lines, including making sure food counts are correct during serving.
Assumes increased responsibilities of department when assigned by manager or in manager’s absence to include directing the work of others.
Deals courteously with the public; maintains an effective working relationship with manager and other employees.
Maintains high standards of work habits, sanitation, and safety; reports any accidents according to District policy.
Practices desirable health and work habits, and maintains acceptable standards of work, conduct, and dress code.
Maintains records and reports as required by manager.
Understands records and reports as required by manager.
Understands, follows, and gives oral and written directions.
Participates in inservice training programs as provided by the District and/or state.
Other duties, as assigned.
