POSITION TITLE: Food Service Assistant

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Food Services Assistant supports efficient and effective food service operations at EMPath. This role includes preparing and distributing nutritious meals, maintaining food inventory, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety, and delivering excellent customer service. Your work directly supports our programs and participants, contributing to their well-being and success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, package, and serve meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and meals for staff meetings and events, following quality and portion control standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, dining room, storeroom, food prep surfaces, and equipment in compliance with health codes and organizational policies.
- Receive, store, and organize supplies and equipment; monitor inventory levels and follow procedures to reduce waste and manage costs.
- Complete required logs, documentation, and reports related to food services.
- Represent the Food Services team professionally and respond to the needs of residents and staff.
- Perform other related duties to support food service operations and EMPath’s mission.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Familiarity with kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills
- ServSafe® - Food Safety Certification preferred
- Prior Food Service Experience required
WORKING HOURS:
Hours will be Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:
This hourly role pays $20 per hour.
