Job Title: Folder Gluer Operator (Bobst Series)
Job Summary: Operate and maintain Bobst series folder gluing equipment to produce high-quality packaging products. This role ensures efficient machine setup, accurate job execution, and adherence to customer specifications and quality standards in a production environment.
Location: Morrisville, NC - 9300
Shift: Night Shift – 7:00pm to 7:00am
What You’ll Do
- Machine Operation & Setup: Set up and run Bobst folder gluer machines to meet production targets and customer quality requirements.
- Product Execution: Process various carton types including straight line, auto-bottom, windowed, and other custom designs as assigned.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor production output for quality throughout runs, minimizing waste and rework through continuous inspection.
- Documentation & Reporting: Record time and materials used per job accurately and maintain production records.
- Equipment Maintenance: Diagnose issues, perform adjustments, and conduct routine maintenance to ensure machine performance and minimal downtime.
- Team Collaboration: Work with team members to complete orders accurately and efficiently, contributing to overall production goals.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and housekeeping standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Other Duties: Support additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth production operations.
What You'll Bring
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of folder gluer machine experience, preferably with Bobst series equipment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Monarch or similar Manufacturing Information Systems (MIS) is a plus.
- Mechanical Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities and mechanical aptitude required to manage machine performance.
- Work Ethic: Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
How You Will Be Successful
- Communication: Effectively relay job requirements and specifications to your team to ensure smooth operations and successful project completion.
- Action-Oriented: Proactively address challenges, such as material discrepancies or mechanical issues, to avoid production delays.
- Teamwork: Work closely with other team members, including the Press Operator and warehouse staff, to ensure consistent quality and efficiency in printing operations.
- Attention to Detail: Take pride in your work by ensuring 100% accuracy in product setup, material handling, and press operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Look for opportunities to streamline the press setup and printing processes, contributing to both efficiency and quality improvement.
What To Expect In The Workplace
- Physical Demands: Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and crawling in tight spaces. Must be able to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- Work Environment: Work is performed in a production environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. May involve working in confined spaces and both indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): PPE is required, including but not limited to safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toed shoes, and high-visibility apparel.
- Frequent Movement: Use of hands, wrists, and arms in repetitive motion, as well as operation of machinery, diagnostic equipment, and computers.
