Summary

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Responsible for managing and developing relationships with key clients within the FMCG industry. Maintaining and growing sales within assigned accounts, maximizing revenue, and achieving business objectives. Markets and sells our offerings within the FMCG and media industry. They identify and approach potential customers to build and maintain a sales pipeline and achieve targets.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build sustained relationships with targeted audience within the FMCG industry to separate our business from competitors and build our brand.
  • Provide input in developing efficient and intuitive sales and marketing strategies for FMCG.
  • Along with other members of the sales and marketing team, ensure the corporate image and branding is maintained throughout all sales channels.
  • With extensive product knowledge and understanding of the FMCG industry marketing and sales trends, communicate directly with clients and prospects, understand their individual needs and recommend offerings or services that maximise value.
  • Achieve sales targets for each identified FMCG brand.
  • Understand our ideal FMCG customers and how they relate to our offerings.
  • Maintaining relationships with important clients by making regular visits, understanding their needs and anticipating new marketing opportunities.
  • Develop and identify new leads using data mining, telesales and through working with a FMCG industry network.
  • Gain first hand market research from our clients.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to evaluate B2B and B2C trends, brand awareness and competition ventures.
  • Assist in recruitment, training and coaching of sales-colleagues to ensure knowledge transfer as part of our human resource objectives.
  • Stay current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks.
  • Develop business plans, meet planned goals, and coordinate with the marketing department on lead generation.
  • Recognise opportunities and turn leads into long-lasting FMCG partnerships.
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Leader to generate FMCG sales leads through setting up meetings/calls with warm leads and providing the leaders with a full brief of requirements ahead of their pitch.
  • Ensure that the provided FMCG marketing & sales channels for our products meet the needs and targets of each customer.
  • Identify new methods and FMCG channels for promoting offerings, including advertising, always seeking cost effective options.
  • Provide regular reports summarising a pipeline of clients and sales values relating to outcomes of marketing and sales activities against targets agreed with the BU Leadership.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements and outline timescales as part of this.
  • Collaborate with leadership in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses.
  • Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects.



REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Diploma/ Degree in Sales Management, Business Management or a related field. Alternatively, 5 years’ experience in Sales, Business development and Account Management. 



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5 – 10 Years’ experience in advertising and media sales to the FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience in similar role.
  • Excellent understanding of market dynamics and sales techniques within the FMCG industry.
  • Good understanding of B2B & B2C sales.
  • Actively promote offerings that leads to sales.
  • Utilisation of different FMCG marketing and sales channels to reach potential customers.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
  • Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Creativity and commercial understanding.
