Your mission


STARK designs and builds UAVs for various mission types and environments. A very capable flight controller is a key ingredient to the success of any UAV. STARK looks for experienced Flight Controller engineers who have designed, built and tested flight control systems extensively in the past, ideally in a military context. The scope of STARKs Flight Controller Engineering team encompasses attitude rate controlling but also waypoint navigation and orientation based navigation as well as vehicle guidance.


Responsibilities


  • Design, build, test and document single PX4 system for multiple UAVs
  • Optimize and tune FC for peak performance and maximum degree of automation
  • Conduct simulation runs to prove functional safety
  • Understand and implement ConOps of vehicles and design flight control system to deliver ConOps
  • Design and build navigation system but also
  • Collaborate closely with other teams, for example Perception and AI teams to integrate sensor fusion
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing innovations to improve our products and processes
  • Dive deep into the details to identify, understand, and solve difficult technical problems.
  • Constantly be challenging requirements to determine what adds value and what is not.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Past proven experience in Flight Controlling, ideally PX4
  • You name your first-born “Kalman”
  • Comprehensive understanding of control loops and their theoretic underpinning
  • Deep understanding of flight dynamics modelling and simulation
  • C/C++ wizard, Rust is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with a strong drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to travel if needed.
