Job Title: FIX Services Business Analyst

Location: Chicago, IL – Hybrid

Our client is seeking a highly motivated FIX Business Analyst to join their Product Management team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a strong, practical understanding of FIX protocol and implementations, plus experience working in the financial industry. This role will be responsible for gathering requirements from customers and internal stakeholders, reviewing and documenting specifications, and overseeing FIX implementations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gather and analyze business requirements for new FIX features and integrations
• Develop FIX message specifications and use cases required to support new platform features, markets and asset classes
• Work closely with the FIX Product Owner to plan, implement, and drive to completion strategic projects for FIX clients globally
• Collaborate with developers and testers from multiple teams to ensure accurate implementation of new platform functionality in their FIX software
• Provide advanced FIX expertise and analysis skills to Support and FIX integration teams when troubleshooting FIX issues
• Participate in design walk-throughs and test planning to ensure that business objectives are being adequately met
• Become a subject matter expert for everything FIX-related
• Demonstrate a thorough, working understanding of product suite
• Effectively communicate with external customers and internal teams to deliver business cases, release notes and training content
• Become a go-to resource for Sales, Customer Service, and end clients to continuously define & revise the FIX roadmap to drive revenue growth
• Aid the product owner in development of high-value enhancements that progress strategic goals

REQUIREMENTS:

• One or more years of experience as a FIX Business Analyst
• Strong understanding of standard FIX protocol and 3rd-party implementations
• Experience with FIX client application configuration and operation
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Team player comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment and possesses excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Agile development and Linux operating systems is a plus
• Experience with financial trading systems is a plus but not required
