About the role
Purpose Of Position
The FP&A Manager plays a critical role in financial planning (annual AOP, monthly local/regional BPMs and weekly forecasting) and providing timely and insightful reporting and analysis to a number of stakeholders across the business. It has a significant role to play in navigating our financial direction to secure the success of our business in FY26.
- Ownership of local planning & reporting, ensuring data accuracy of in the consolidation of financials through partnering with supporting teams (FP&A Ops, GBO, Data & Analytics etc). The role acts as SME for our Anaplan forecasting system.
- Play a supporting role in the Business Performance Management (BPM) across Diageo Australia through owing the monthly forecast process and insightful reporting and analysis.
- Business Partnering with the marketing and commercial finance teams and IBP lead to deliver reliable forecasts and insightful monthly reporting
- Report and track direct and depletion sales and monitor NSV and GP (forward and backward looking) with a customer and brand lens.
- Group and External Forecast and Performance Reporting including Investor relations reporting.
Role Responsibilities
Financial Accountability
While the role is not directly accountable for financial metric delivery, it is pivotal in ensuring data accuracy in the consolidation of the financials, including control of the Corporate business unit (which contains Supply passback, co-pack NSV, recharges and other Corporate items).
Market / Function Complexity
Diageo Australia (DA) is a USD $440m NSV business and a member of the Diageo Asia Pacific region. DA has three route to market channels (as well as relatively small Emerging and E-commerce channels):
- National Accounts (Endeavour & Coles)
- Independents
- Beer and New Zealand (run by our Agency partner, Lion)
The Independent’s channel is influenced at three levels: (1) through National Independent Customer Groups (NICGs) at a National level, (2) through state-based buying groups and (3) at individual outlets.
Leadership Responsibilities
The role-holder will co-ordinate and influence across a large number of internal stakeholders, primarily within the Commercial / Marketing / Supply finance teams but also across FP&A Opps, GBO RTR, IBP, Commercial and Corporate Relations.
Strong stakeholder management skills are required to build relationships and enable effective working relationships to ensure business objectives and deadlines are met.

Top 3-5 Responsibilities
- Own the delivery of insightful monthly financial forecast and BPM information (70%)
- Consolidation of actuals and forecast reporting (local and Regional) for BPM reporting.
- Ownership of excel Performance Pack and Power BI tool.
- Performance insights.
- Stock in trade analysis
- BFC Reporting
- System ownership of Anaplan (10%)
- SME and main point of contact for system improvements/issues.
- Own the process of coordinating stakeholders to build the Annual Operating Plan (10%)
- Building the timetable to align to local and global delivery deadlines.
- Co-ordinating the Finance team to deliver inputs.
- Managing Anaplan and Power BI consolidation / Reporting
- BFC Load
- Produce reports and insightful analysis for inclusion into the executive reporting decks and to support business performance (10%)
- Delivery of reliable and well presented ad hoc analysis to support decision-making
Experience / Skills Required
Qualifications and experience required:
- Degree qualified
- Finance qualification (CA, CPA, CIMA or local equivalent)
- 2 - 5 years Accounting and Finance experience preferably within FP&A / commercially focused roles.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- High level of Excel and systems skills - Anaplan/Power BI/ SAP/BW
- Experience of working, coordinating and influencing cross-functional teams
- Ability to engage and work effectively with other teams within the finance function / across other commercial parts of the business
- Ability to self-motivate and work towards agreed goals
- FMCG or Branded goods company experience preferable
This role provides a unique opportunity to see and help shape the end-to-end Diageo Australia business. Previous role holders have successfully moved into Commercial Finance Manager and RGM Manager roles.
