Controller – Nonprofit Organization

We’re looking for a skilled Controller to lead the financial operations for our client a nonprofit agency. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role oversees budgeting, financial reporting, audits, payroll, and compliance with MCCSS and other funders. You’ll play a key role in strategic planning, policy development, and internal controls to support our mission and long-term sustainability.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead budgeting, reporting, and financial planning
• Oversee day-to-day accounting, payroll, and audit processes
• Ensure compliance with funders and regulatory bodies (MCCSS, CRA, etc.)
• Collaborate with leadership to strengthen internal financial systems
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality and accountability

What You’ll Bring:

• CPA designation with 3+ years of accounting ideally coming from non profit
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, payroll, and financial compliance
• Experience with Sage ERP 300 and Inclusion Payroll (an asset)
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Leadership ability and commitment to mission-driven work
