Summary

Scope of the Role

The Controller will be responsible for managing the Company's accounting function, including daily transactions, financial reporting, and maintaining a strong internal control environment. This an individual contributor role that will report directly to the Company’s President and the CFO of Broadcrest.

The mission of this role is to establish a highly efficient, accurate, and scalable accounting function that supports the Company’s ongoing growth while ensuring financial stability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

·        Financial Reporting & Compliance – Ensure accurate, audit-ready financials delivered on time, compliant with all regulations. Provide unit-level reporting tailored to business needs.

·        AR, AP & Treasury – Oversee AR collections, AP processing, and treasury management. Maintain liquidity, debt covenant compliance, and optimize excess cash.

·        FP&A & CapEx – Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Track capital expenditures and asset depreciation.

·        Risk & Controls – Assess financial risks, enforce controls, and ensure policy compliance.

·        Administration & Payroll – Manage insurance, vendor contracts, and payroll with 100% accuracy.

·        M&A Integration – Lead seamless financial system integration for acquisitions.


Background and Experience

·        10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting roles; at least 5 years of experience outside public accounting

·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA/CMA preferred

·        Demonstrated ability to build an accounting function with minimal support

·        Proven ability to quickly learn and optimize accounting processes and systems, enhancing reporting efficiency to drive informed decision-making and behavioral improvements

·        Experience in a smaller entrepreneurial organization, new business unit, greenfield in a larger company, etc. (less than 100 employees initially). Preferably this experience was within the service industry

·        Exposed to best practices/systems (most likely at a larger company)

·        Demonstrated success in new, first-time experience(s)

·        Experience in running reporting for a company with multiple locations and lines of business

·        Treasury management experience 

·        Experience interacting with and reporting to banking partners

·        Acquisition/integration experience is a plus, but not required

·        Technology experience with ERP, CRM, financial systems (QuickBooks), Excel, data analysis, BI tools, etc.

·        Experience navigating and driving organizational change

Must be located in Raleigh, NC or willing to relocate
