Financial Controller

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite for initial training; hybrid schedule available thereafter)

Compensation: Up to $125,000 annually, depending on experience

Overview

A growing, multi-brand organization in the restaurant and hospitality space is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to manage and improve accounting operations across multiple entities. This role requires a detail-oriented, full-cycle accounting professional with restaurant industry experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all financial transactions, including sales, payables, intercompany activity, and credit card reconciliation
• Reconcile bank and merchant accounts; perform monthly close and account reconciliations
• File and remit monthly sales tax payments; coordinate insurance renewals and audit support
• Prepare and deliver bi-weekly AP reports and process weekly vendor payments
• Audit general ledger entries and invoice coding to ensure accuracy before close
• Support leadership with budgeting, ad-hoc reporting, and financial analysis
• Assess and improve accounting systems, processes, and software
• Provide structure and mentorship to accounting team members

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent accounting leadership role
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and Desktop
• Must have prior experience in the restaurant industry
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, intercompany transactions, and compliance
• Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., Stripe, Square) and Microsoft 365
