TBG | The Bachrach Group is partnered with a national leading financial services organization on their search for a FINANCIAL CONTROLLER. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of progressive accounting experience within financial services, venture capital or insurance industry, and 2 years in a controllership role. A bachelor's degree in accounting / finance is required and an active CPA license is highly preferred.
Position Summary:
Our client is looking for a dynamic accounting and finance professional with the ability to lead a team, monitor financial performance, and ensure the accuracy of all financial information. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the company’s financial integrity while supporting executive leadership in making financial decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Ensure the timely preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts; monitor actual performance against forecasts.
- Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate audit processes.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Manage and develop the accounting team and support mentorship opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance; suggest corrective actions to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations, prepare tax filings, and manage any necessary tax issues.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field of study is required.
- CPA or CMA designation is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a controllership / supervisory or a leadership role.
- Extensive understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance is required.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with major ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
- Proven ability to lead and develop an accounting team with strong communication skills to present financial data effectively.
- Analytically inclined with strong organizational and time management skills. Must also have the capabilities to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Manufacturing or green technology industry experience is highly preferred.
- Proven proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications is required.
