Summary

Our client is a leading private equity firm. Due to continued company growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join its high performing team in Luxembourg.

The role involves overseeing the financial operations of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) within the firm’s investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with Luxembourg accounting standards, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.


In this role, you will:


  • Manage Financial Operations: Oversee all financial aspects of SPVs, ensuring accurate accounting records are maintained in the Investran system and that financial risks are effectively controlled and escalated when necessary.
  • Prepare Financial Statements: Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with Lux GAAP, ensuring timely submission to the eCDF and RCS.
  • Coordinate Audits: Prepare audit documentation and liaise with auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient audit processes.
  • Handle Cash Management & Fund Flows: Assist in the preparation of fund flows and cash repatriation to investors, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.
  • Develop Waterfall Models: Create and maintain waterfall models in compliance with investment cases, ensuring accurate distribution calculations.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing financial processes and systems, contributing to continuous improvement within the team.
  • Engage in Board Activities: Actively participate in board meetings, providing financial insights and supporting decision-making processes.


To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:


  • Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related subject.
  • Professional Experience: Have approximately 3 years of experience working in SPV accounting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Lux GAAP.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Organisational Skills: Show strong organisational skills with a structured approach to personal work.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
