Summary

Our firm in Melville (Long Island), NY is rapidly expanding and we are looking to add to our team of financial professionals.


The Financial Advisor role with Northwestern Mutual is ideal for career changers looking to pivot into a new role or industry and recent graduates looking to begin a career in finance and gain hands-on experience in financial planning and advisory services.


In this role you will work closely with other experienced advisors to develop a clientele and work with clients to understand their financial goals and provide tailored solutions that align with their needs. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills in insurance planning, asset management, estate planning, sales and client development while working in a supportive environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance to meet the comprehensive financial planning needs of individuals and businesses
  • Provide services including retirement planning, insurance and investment services, estate planning, business planning, education funding, and employee benefits.
  • Understand clients' goals and visions to develop holistic financial solutions that put clients on a path to financial success.
  • Communicate with clients on Northwestern Mutual financial products and financial market trends with the support of our firm’s network of financial specialists, training and educational programs, and mentoring opportunities.
  • Build and maintain client bases, keep current client financial plans up-to-date and build a portfolio of new clients on an ongoing basis.


Qualifications:

  • Must currently live local to Melville, NY or be relocating to the area prior to applying
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • History of success in a previous career including but not limited to, sales, business development, education, finance, military etc.
  • For recent grads, we are looking for individuals that have been involved on campus, held internships, worked during school or have been involved in college athletics.
  • Business minded, entrepreneurial spirit, hardworking, has grit and a desire to succeed.
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Start-up compensation of $55k in year one (paid training, weekly stipends and bonuses)
