Responsibilities:
- Supervise finance team in KL office to ensure the team's operational effectiveness and efficiency, as well as team members' well-being
- Oversee and drive execution and enhancement of financial controls
- Ensure smooth month-end closings for the Group's entities, including but not limited to review of month end journals, reconciliations, maintenance of audit schedules/evidence, consolidation, vendor payments, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all financial, regulatory, tax and management reporting as per necessary accounting standards and regulations
- Work closely with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance with tax, audit, and statutory requirements
- Review and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures in line with group policy and standards
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures and are up to date
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Lead/assist in any finance related tasks or automation initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of finance or accounting experience in the financial industry, and with at least 2 years of managerial experience
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, tax transfer pricing, corporate and indirect tax laws, and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Suite) and Microsoft Excel. Coding knowledge will be highly advantageous
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
