Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our India Finance team, based in Gurugram. Reporting to the Financial Controller – India, the Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting all aspects of financial management, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering activities for Wood Mackenzie’s operations in India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local and global accounting standards (IFRS, IND-AS, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements including tax filings (direct and indirect taxes), audits, and other regulatory obligations.
  • Manage and coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with business teams.
  • Assist in cash flow management, working capital optimization, and treasury operations.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and ensure process improvements where necessary.
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to various business units and leadership teams.
  • Support the integration of financial systems, process automation initiatives, and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships with global finance teams and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • 8–10 years of relevant finance experience, ideally in a multinational or global organization.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in IFRS and Indian accounting standards.
  • Experience with tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and statutory audits in India.
  • Proficient in financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across cultures and geographies.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
