Overview
A leading provider of marine infrastructure solutions is hiring a Field Support Technician (Electrical) to support its fleet and project operations across the U.S. and globally. Reporting to the Electrical Systems Manager, this role involves hands-on electrical systems support in the field and provides excellent exposure to a diverse range of equipment and engineering environments. This is a field-based role with extensive travel and limited time in the Houston office or remote work setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Travel to vessel and project locations to support electrical maintenance and repair
• Troubleshoot systems including switchboards, generators, automation, and drives
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibration using electronic test equipment
• Collaborate with production engineers to ensure accurate instrumentation and data communication
• Install new systems including PLCs, power wiring, Ethernet networks, and computer interfaces
• Train vessel crews on electrical safety, operations, and routine maintenance
• Support off-hours or emergency situations as needed
• Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and compliant work procedures
Required Qualifications & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Electrical certifications through technical school, union, or military training
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively (domestic and international)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Passport and TWIC card (or ability to obtain)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with electrical systems in marine or industrial settings
• Comfort working independently in field environments
