Overview of the role:

We are hiring a skilled and reliable Field Support Engineer to be deployed at a leading transportation sector client based in Brussels. This role involves providing second-line desktop and field support across a wide range of devices and systems in a dynamic, user-facing environment.

As part of the on-site IT support team, you will ensure smooth day-to-day operations by resolving technical issues quickly and maintaining high availability of end-user systems. The position offers hands-on exposure to a wide variety of technologies and business-critical hardware, including ticketing machines and payment devices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 2nd line support for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android).
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software across various platforms.
  • Support and maintain specialized equipment such as printers, scanners, ticketing machines, and payment systems.
  • Perform regular patching, updates, and software deployments using tools like SCCM and Altiris.
  • Troubleshoot networking issues (Layer 1–3) and coordinate with third-line teams for escalations.
  • Maintain accurate asset records and contribute to preventative maintenance activities.
  • Provide onsite support across multiple locations when required.
  • Uphold health and safety compliance and SLA performance standards.


Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, MacOS, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with hardware repair, PC builds, and peripheral device troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Intune, Knox, SCCM, and Altiris.
  • Good understanding of network layers and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Service-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
