Full Job Description Hennessy International Inc, a North American dealer and distributor for foundation drilling and jet grouting equipment, is seeking applications for Experienced Field Service Technicians in Bakersfield, CA. The Field Service Technician works with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment at our facilities in Bakersfield, CA as well as the customer’s jobsite. Essential Functions: Makes determinations in the field on warranty repair and guidelines, communicating decisions to customer and supervisors Removes, repairs, and installs major components in varying configurations of equipment Reads, understands, and applies electrical and hydraulic schematics to repair work Accurately troubleshoots and repairs our equipment the first time Communicates with supervisors and customers on the diagnosis and status of repairs, parts, and other concerns Works with the Service Department and Sales Department to meet all of the customer’s needs Safely rigs or hooks components for lifting Loads and unloads equipment and parts Maintains service truck maintenance to include periodic inspections, services, and tire rotations Maintains equipment such as transfer oil pumps, air compressors, and oil reels Teaches and coaches other technicians in the field Learns from and assists other technicians in the field Performs general housekeeping duties as assigned Transmits photos, timecards, service reports, and other information through e-mail Assists other staff as assigned Other duties as assigned by manager Competencies: Reading and understanding Hydraulic schematics Reading and understanding Electrical schematics Telephone Skills Safety Knowledge Reading/Writing Skills Reasoning Skills Organizational Skills Communication Skills Ability to work independently with little or no direction Supervisory Responsibilities: More advanced Field Service Technicians may assist less advanced technicians as required, providing them with guidance and instruction in their work Work Environment: Noise: Loud Indoors and Outdoors Physical Demands: Standing Walking Talking Sitting Use of Hands Hearing Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc. Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more Travel Requirements: Some limited travel Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED Relevant Excavator related courses preferred (CAT/Hitachi/Doosan, etc.) Experience servicing heavy equipment preferred Customer service experience preferred Additional Eligibility Requirements: Valid Driver’s License Valid Passport (or ability to get Passport) Must have their own tools Must have a positive attitude Must pass all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screenings Pay Range: Competitive rates dependent on education and experience Employee Benefits: Hennessy International provides the following benefits to all full-time employees Paid Time Off Company Paid Holidays Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401K Savings Plan Tuition Reimbursement Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Schedule: 8 hour shift Overtime Supplemental Pay: Overtime pay Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Ability to Relocate: Bakersfield, CA: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: Multiple locations
