TITLE: Field Service Technician
STATUS: Full Time
HOURS: 7am-4pm M-F
-Health insurance (BCBS) paid by company, 401K (Company matches up to 3%), profit sharing,
2 weeks paid time off, Paid holidays, Company vehicle, credit card, laptop, if needed and Ipad
RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
Customer Service:
Preventative Maintenance of Customer equipment:
Contact customers before service calls,
service, clean and upkeep of machines, training of operators and maintenance
Monitor preventative maintenance plan (based on consumable purchases)
Troubleshoot customer equipment, on phone and via onsite service calls, in a timely and efficient manner.
Telephone Assistance:
Maintain excellent customer relations, keep positive proactive interaction with customers
Offer phone tech support when needed; troubleshooting on the phone for diagnosis.
Paperwork:
Work Orders need to be filled out promptly and correctly.
Update any equipment and details in Acowin (equipment information, new contacts, etc)
Enter accurate travel time, service time and mileage
Correct part numbers to be entered, add UPS shipping charges if needed
Summary of work performed (show hours worked and details of labor performed)
Review with customer if needed and get signature before emailing out to them.
Show “Action Points” if any ad “Parts Used” on the resolution
All work orders need to be synced before leaving the jobsite if possible
Email a copy of the work order to customer, yourself and the Office Manager
If a follow up visit or parts are needed, take care of that promptly and efficiently
Other Duties:
Expense reports:
Vehicle mileage reports must be turned in every 2 weeks
ALL credit card receipts for business expenses need to be turned in every 2 weeks
(if a receipt is lost, the charges will be taken from employee’s paycheck)
*No personal use of company credit cards
Vehicle Maintenance
Oil changes, tire rotation, repairs
Schedule all necessary maintenance work in a timely manner. Charge all vehicle expenses to the company credit card and turn in receipts
Turn in copies of work performed, inspections, etc to office manager
Pre-approval needed by a Manager for any unnecessary expenses
Expenses that are cosmetic or not essential will be covered by employee.
Technicians must maintain a good driving record – an MVR will be run annually
Vendors – work with them to order correct parts for job.
Obtain correct part numbers from their service department
Request RMA’s to return items promptly
Take care of any repairs needed in office – clean workbench afterwards; leave service area neat and clean.
Customers - keep contact names, phone numbers, addresses and emails current and saved in your work phone.
- Office:
Keep all PC’s, laptops, Ipads up to date with antivirus
Inventory- check weekly and ask Office Manager to order any parts needed
Keep the office organized and clean (includes bathroom/warehouse)
UPS shipments and receiving – make sure parts that come in are put in proper place
Inova Lifter (rentals) clean/service upon their return – change out SS belts
Continually look for ways to change, organize and/or improve procedures, for maximum efficiency.
Warehouse - keep it neat and organized; have current, working knowledge of where all inventory is located
