Position Overview

We’re searching for an experienced agricultural professional ready to make an impact. This role combines sales and field service responsibilities, generating new sales leads and providing technical support in the field. In this dynamic role, you’ll be working hands-on with cutting-edge machinery, driving tractors, traveling throughout the Salinas valley, scheduling and running demonstrations, initiating sales discussions, performing repairs on equipment, and supporting our valued growers every step of the way. In addition to your salary, you will also receive commission based on sales.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of management experience, preferably within farming or ag-tech
  • Clean driving record
  • Tractor driving experience
  • 2+ years of mechanical and electrical repair experience
  • Familiar with local growing methods and crop spacing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - written and verbal, to project a professional image of the company and our products
  • Capable of managing a large territory and knowledgeable of the Salinas valley
  • Sales experience and knowledge of sales techniques, including lead generation, qualification and closing strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while traveling to various locations. 
  • Customer service skills to ensure customer satisfaction and build strong relationships.
  • Understanding of the company’s products and services, as well as the competitive landscape.
Nice to Haves
  • Strong understanding of local farming regions with a network of contacts in the grower community
  • Sales and service experience within the scope of agriculture
  • The ability to call on existing or prospective customers with the focus on product growth
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL Class A) required
About the Role
  • Actively seek out and generate new sales leads through various channels, including networking, cold calling, online research and direct outreach.
  • Manage and nurture leads through the sales funnel, providing ongoing communication and support.
  • Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and providing excellent service.
  • Present and promote the company’s products and services, highlighting their value and benefits. 
  • Schedule and perform product demonstrations
  • Provide on-site technical support and assistance to customers, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Train customers in the proper use of equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, customer interactions and equipment information.
  • Travel to areas outside of your assigned territory.
  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to existing customers, ensuring their satisfaction and driving repeat and referral business.
  • Report beginning and end of day details in the proper channels of communication
  • Identify new growth areas and build relationships in those locations
  • Role is primarily based on the Central Coast of California (Salinas/Hollister).  Sales territory encompasses Salinas Valley (home area) Santa Maria, Oxnard, Paso Robles, Central  and Sacramento Valleys of California.
