Principle Duties And Responsibilities
Serve as Subject Matter Expert on all AM General automotive systems including the JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle), trailers, and HMMWV (High Mobility Multi Wheeled Vehicle) including having excellent technical knowledge, tooling requirements, and maintenance procedures to support customers worldwide
Attend vehicle training on the new JLTV A2 FoV & trailers in South Bend, Indiana and/or also Michigan
Support contract requirements by conducting short- and long-term field service support to customers worldwide
Support customers with technical and service inquiries and deliver the highest level of customer support
Support our Engineering group during testing efforts at various test sites throughout CONUS & OCONUS as necessary
Support the AM General Military Training department by providing OPNET & FLMNET training to both U.S. and Foreign customers
Provide highly detailed field service reports outlining program status, vehicle status, deficiencies, and all repairs
Perform troubleshooting and Maintenance in support of prototype Government vehicle testing and all other AM General departmental operations as required
Promotes AM General Training and Field Service department capabilities to customers worldwide
Serve as liaison between customer field operations and manufacturing, engineering, and quality for component issues and or other product concerns
Provide daily vehicle status updates in written and verbal format
Support both the opening and closing of the Test Facility/Testing Event
Participating in Test Meetings, Test Readiness Review (TRR), and FACAR (Failure Analysis and Corrective Action Report) Reviews via teleconference or on-site
Review released Test Incident Reports (TIRs) through the Vision Digital Library System (VDLS) and deliver FACAR responses as required
Performs all task orders assigned by the Manager of Test Site Operations
Be willing to travel to stand up and support other Government Test Site locations besides the main place of work as required
Must be willing to support both day and night shift testing at each of the two test locations, if required
Knowledge And Skills
An automotive vocational degree or five-year automotive technical experience is a must
Automotive Service and Excellence (ASE) Certifications are a plus
Prior Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) experience in the maintenance field related to the JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) its companion trailers, and the HMMWV (High Mobility Multi Wheeled Vehicle) FoV is desirable
Previous experience in both Operator and Maintainer level instruction is highly beneficial in this role
Highly proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) is required
Willingness to travel within CONUS and OCONUS locations for extended periods and have sufficient credit to be approved for a company credit card
Able to identify, troubleshoot, and permanently correct automotive electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical issues and apply a wide range of mechanical concepts and principles in order to rapidly return test assets to mission-capable status
Must have extremely strong communication skills in English (written and verbal), the ability to work independently and as part of a team, multi-task with attention to detail, have strong customer service skills with problem-solving skills, and a high level of initiative
Extensive working knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment
Have a solid understanding of the theory and operation of a CAN BUS network and be able to troubleshoot/repair is a plus
Experience providing both Government and OEM prototype test site support, Total Package Fielding (TPF) as it pertains to the JLTV is desirable
High level of integrity and professionalism
Ability to secure a US Government Security Clearance

Climbing / Kneeling: must be able to occasionally climb, kneel, bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with balance
Lifting: must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance
Physical Strength: must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups
Stamina: must be able to occasionally exert oneself physically over long periods of time, including performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently
Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
Travel Requirements
Up to 90% travel may be required. Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
