Global leader in industrial equipment, is seeking experienced Field Service Engineers (FSEs) with expertise in electro-mechanical systems and automation. This role requires candidates who can program and modify Siemens PLCs (minimum requirement) and work on packaging machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Programming & Troubleshooting: Modify and program Siemens PLCs (BNR experience is a plus, but not required).
Mechanical & Electro-Mechanical Work: Hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of packaging machinery (fillers, blowers, conveyors, labelers).
Installation & Commissioning: Assist with new equipment installation and commissioning at customer sites.
Customer Interaction: Represent the company professionally when dealing with key customers.
Travel: Be willing to travel 4/6-8 weeks at a time with 2-5 days at home in between (worst case scenario).
Must-Have Qualifications
Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical or Automation Experience (Minimum 2-3 years)
Comfortable with Heavy Travel: 80-90% of the time, mostly domestic, but some international (valid passport required or willingness to obtain ASAP)
Physically Demanding Role: Heavy lifting, hands-on mechanical work, and long hours
Strong Soft Skills: Must be customer-facing and professional (candidates can be disqualified for poor communication or lack of interpersonal skills)
Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday (Sunday is a rest day for safety)
Work Hours: Expect 60-hour workweeks (Overtime at 1.5x for anything over 40 hours)
Ability to Handle Travel Expenses on Personal Credit Card:
Hotels and rental cars are paid upfront by the candidate, reimbursed weekly/biweekly/monthly (candidate's choice)
Flights booked by the company
Per Diem: Non-taxable, no food receipts needed. Based on US regulations anywhere between 68-92 per day for food.
Location Flexibility: Can live anywhere in the U.S. but must be willing to relocate to Atlanta for growth opportunities (after 2-5 years)—no need to really mention this, if they ask about room for growth that is where it would be located.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Aseptic Packaging Machinery Experience (Highly preferred for more specialized equipment like fillers, labelers, and blow molders)
Experience in Food & Beverage Industry
Experience with Other PLCs (Allen Bradley, B&R, Elau)
Competitor Experience (Candidates with knowledge of similar industry equipment are highly encouraged to apply)
Career Growth
The learning curve is long if they do not come from a packaging background.
Typically 2-5 years in this role before moving up.
Promotion paths include Install Site Manager, Project Manager, and higher roles (but relocation to Atlanta is required).
