As a Field Service Engineer you will be covering the high-tech production systems, lasers, motion stages and vacuum products of MKS Instruments.
You will make an Impact By:
Supporting laser-based production systems for scientific and industrial applications.
System installation, diagnose and repair of laser-based production systems, optical alignment and installation and troubleshooting of electromechanical subassemblies.
Maintain operational functionality of scientific and industrial laser equipment.
Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.
Serves as company interface with customer and factory on administrative and technical matters.
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
Other duties may be assigned and could include shift, weekend and on-call coverage.
USA and International travel is a requirement for customer support and for training on our products.
Skills You Bring:
Associate’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree and/or applicable Certification is preferred.
5+ years of related practical experience
Exceptional troubleshooting skills with optical systems and laser systems highly preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to assume new tasks and responsibilities, self-manage, and schedule working time with minimal supervision
High degree of proficiency of PC skills including MS office, SAP, and data analysis applications
Ability to travel up to between 50% and 80% of the time. This typically involves travel to a customer site during a normal business week

Experience with Semiconductor equipment would be an advantage.
Ability to travel internationally in support of MKS Instruments installations and applications, as well as training on our products, may be required. Primary consideration will be given to US Citizens and US Green Card Holders as this is a requirement to support certain customers

Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
