Summary

Position: Field Engineer

Location: Remote (must live near an airport, preferably on east coast or in OKC) - will be traveling

Duration: Permanent

Base Salary: 80k-100k

Must-haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Technology or related field
  • 3-9+ years of experience in Systems/Field Engineering integrating, deploying, and supporting integrated hardware and software solutions in networking and communications fields
  • Experience with the following technologies:
  • Operating Systems (RHEL, Windows)
  • Scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python)
  • Log aggregation and reporting (ELK/Opensearch, Splunk)
  • Network analysis tools (Wireshark, Stablenet)
  • System monitoring tools (Zabbix, SNMP)
  • Virtualization (ESXi, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization)
  • System security management and intrusion detection tools (IdM, SSL, IPSec/VPN, SELinux, AIDE)
  • Telecommunications protocols (SIP/RTP, ED-137)
  • Experience in routing and networking technologies
  • Willing to travel up to 80%

Day-to-Day

Insight Global is seeking to hire Field Engineers to support an Air Traffic Control Voice Communication, Information, and Network Solutions program under the FAA. This individual will be providing technical support and field services in integrating, testing, modifying, and repairing the Voice switching and Networking product line. Responsibilities include:

  • Hands-on integration of software and hardware components including software installation and configuration, network configuration, and telecommunications hardware integration.
  • Implements IT system solutions for networking, computing, and our propriety communications equipment including conceptional, functional, and physical views.
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
  • Conduct site surveys at customer locations to identify requirements for production and installation.
  • Prepare deliverable documentation describing site requirements and system configuration.
  • Install, service, and complete basic repairs of equipment at customer sites.
  • Integrate mission-critical systems components and perform system debug.
  • Conducts factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, failure location and analysis.
  • Interface with customers.
  • May participate in remote system monitoring, maintenance, and tier 2 on call support.
