Summary

SUMMARY ROHM Semiconductor is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to support our expanding portfolio of semiconductor sensor products. In this customer-facing role, you will serve as the critical link between our products and our customers' success-delivering expert technical support, guiding product integration, and enabling design wins in consumer, automotive, and industrial applications. You'll work closely with the sales team, technical marketing, and engineering groups to provide real-time support and insight, ensuring customers get the most value from our innovative sensor solutions. DUTIES AND RESONSIBLITIES: * Partner with customers to enable successful design-in of sensor ICs (e.g., Hall effect, current, pressure, magnetic, and MEMS sensors). * Own the technical engagement at strategic accounts from concept through production ramp-up. * Provide hands-on design support, including device selection, interface guidance, schematic/layout review, and system optimization. * Lead on-site visits, design reviews, and technical presentations to educate customers on product capabilities and use cases. * Diagnose and troubleshoot sensor behavior in real applications using lab tools and customer-provided data. * Influence customer design architecture by identifying and demonstrating value-added sensor features. * Communicate customer needs and field insights to internal R&D, applications, and marketing teams to shape product roadmaps. * Develop technical collateral such as application notes, integration guides, and FAQs to support scalable customer support. QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. * 4+ years in a customer-facing or systems/application role involving sensor components, ideally semiconductor sensors or analog/mixed-signal ICs. * Strong working knowledge of digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART), embedded systems, and signal processing. * Proficiency in lab tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, current probes, and power analyzers. * Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills-comfortable engaging with engineers, project managers, and executives. * Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects and customers across a regional territory. * Willingness to travel 25-40% for customer visits, training, and events. Preferred Skills: * Consumer electronics, automotive or industrial sensor experience with exposure to ISO 26262, EMC compliance, or system-level functional safety. * Familiarity with embedded firmware or software development. * Ability to create and deliver technical presentations tailored to different engineering audiences. * Multilingual (Japanese, English) communication skills is a plus.
