Are you an experienced Field Application Engineer - Power Distribution passionate about electrical distribution and technology? Join ABB as a Field Application Engineer and help drive ABB’s Electrification business in the Baltimore/Washington DC region!

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with consulting engineers, end users, utilities, and EPC/DBC contractors to define electrical project needs and deliver ABB solutions
• Provide technical support and design assistance for MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, motor control, ATS, and more
• Assist with project specifications, budgeting, and product selection for Low & Medium Voltage applications
• Educate customers and present ABB’s product offerings in technical meetings and Lunch & Learn sessions
• Travel approximately 25% within the local region to visit customers

Requirements:

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
• 3-8 years of experience in electrical distribution or power systems design
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel, Visio)
• Strong knowledge of arc flash mitigation and coordination studies (using SKM, Easy Power, etc.)
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, contractors, and end users
• Previous experience with industry codes & standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL) is preferred
