About QuSecure
QuSecure is the nation’s leading provider of post-quantum cybersecurity solutions, delivering crypto-agility and quantum-resilient encryption designed to secure the most sensitive national security assets. Our QuProtect™ platform is currently operational within select DoD mission environments, providing secure data-in-transit protection and quantum-ready key orchestration. These deployments are part of multi-phase engagements with key DoD components—facilitated through SBIR and pilot programs—aimed at integrating quantum-resilient capabilities into tactical and strategic networks. As we progress toward broader fielding and eventual Program of Record status, we are accelerating adoption across the federal enterprise through ongoing testing, compliance validation (FIPS, FedRAMP, IL5), and partnerships with prime contractors.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a mission-driven Federal Sales Engineer based in the DC Metro Area to support pre-sales engineering engagements with DoD and civilian agencies. You’ll act as the technical face of QuSecure in meetings with federal stakeholders — engaging on architecture, compliance, and security integration needs.
This is a customer-facing role designed for someone who can explain complex encryption technologies, field detailed questions, and build trusted relationships with technical buyers, program managers, and acquisition officers.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent QuSecure’s platform in meetings with DoD, IC, and civilian agency customers — translating mission needs into technical solutions.
- Conduct technical briefings, live demos, and architecture whiteboarding sessions with prospects and partners.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders evaluating quantum-resilient encryption, crypto-agility, and zero trust architectures.
- Align QuSecure’s offerings with agency requirements, including FedRAMP, FIPS 140-3, IL5/IL6, and NIST SP 800-208.
- Support proposal and RFI/RFP responses with technical content, diagrams, and compliance narratives.
- Partner with our engineering and product teams to communicate feedback from the field and inform product development.
- Support partner enablement (e.g., integrators, primes, resellers) with technical training and documentation.
- Maintain situational awareness of DoD acquisition programs, SBIR opportunities, and other federal buying pathways.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in a technical pre-sales, systems engineering, or solutions architect role supporting federal customers.
- Demonstrated ability to engage technical and mission stakeholders within the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.
- Strong working knowledge of encryption protocols (TLS, PKI, VPN, secure messaging) and cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with federal security standards (FIPS 140-3, FedRAMP, CMMC, IL-level hosting, Zero Trust).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to tailor complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Based in the DC metro area with the ability to attend in-person meetings regularly (up to 30% local travel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with DoD or IC mission programs, PEOs, PMs, or DISA/NSA stakeholders.
- Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography (PQC), crypto-agility, or secure communications tools.
- Shipley business development familiarity - capture and/or proposal certification(s).
- Familiarity with DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution cycles.
- Program or Project Management Professional Certification(s) from Project Management Institute
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
- Eligible for Federal security clearance (Secret or higher); active clearance strongly preferred, but not required.
