Support improvement of component quality by performing documented failure analysis and obtaining corrective action from suppliers.
Interact with various departments (Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing) to resolve/improve component issues.
Monitor components’ reject levels and use data/reports to respond to issues accordingly.
Provide technical reports/failure analysis results concerning component failures upon request.
Support cost recovery of rejected components via return of defective product.
Implement proactive measures that will foster productivity and higher product yields while reducing economic loss.
Respond to production line part problems immediately and address regular test fallout.
Be a leader in adherence to plant procedure for MSL, ESD, EHS, Security, etc..
Be able to correspond via phone/email/video call with customer and suppliers effectively and with professionalism.
Perform destructive root cause analysis as required on parts or assemblies.
Participate in product complaint analysis and corrective action processes.
Use of measurement tools including digital multimeters, LCR meters, Oscilloscopes, CMM (coordinate measurement machine) Calipers, and imaging systems.
Perform engineering studies/experiments using equipment not limited to: Force Gages, Pull-Tests, or other systems as required.
Support Quality Engineering department as an element of Standard Work, not limited to: Initiating purge of raw material and manufactured assemblies, conducting or supervising sorts/rework, and issuing/maintaining quality alerts.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, understanding of partial differential equations, integration, and numerical techniques.
Expertise in mathematics and both applying and interpretation of concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, including graphs and tables depicting each.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Proven ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and effectively deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience with failure analysis projects, including hands-on experience with root cause analysis of equipment - Fishbone, 5 Why's, etc.
Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
