The Service Engineer is a member of the Hitachi Energy Grid Integration FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) Service Solutions , providing service and support to customers with FACTS & HVDC stations. This includes applications such as Series Capacitors (SC), Static VAR Compensators (SVC), STATCOMS, and High Voltage DC (HVDC). The Field Service Engineer’s primary responsibility will be emergency support, troubleshooting, and maintenance; but can also be involved in station installation, commissioning, and upgrades. Hitachi Energy installations are in the utility and industrial markets.
Upon hiring, the candidate will receive hands on training by participating in commissioning projects and field service jobs with experienced members of the Service Solutions team. Once the candidate reaches a necessary level of competence & experience, they will be expected to execute the tasks assigned to them in an autonomous way. The selected candidate should be available for traveling for up to 80% of the time to sites located in North America and abroad for commissioning and other site activities
