Position Summary Able Engineering is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join our team in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. This role partners closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of a portfolio of properties. The Operations Manager is responsible for delivering top-tier asset management services, maintaining operational excellence, ensuring safety compliance, and driving customer satisfaction while keeping budgetary goals in focus. Pay: $135,000 - $150,000 The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program. Key Responsibilities Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Operations Manager will: Oversee the daily mechanical and engineering operations across assigned client properties. Implement and enforce Able Engineering's policies, procedures, engineering standards, and safety programs. Manage, supervise, and schedule site engineers and support staff within the assigned portfolio. Ensure timely and accurate payroll, billing, and accounting procedures using internal systems. Deliver consistent and accurate reporting for assigned sites. Lead safety, procedural, and technical training for engineering teams. Conduct quality assurance inspections and operational audits across job sites. Support employee-related HR functions including onboarding, evaluations, and risk mitigation. Review and provide feedback on monthly engineering reports submitted by site leaders. Control overtime usage and manage client expectations regarding labor costs. Assist in business development activities including participation in local industry events (e.g., BOMA, IFMA). Serve as a regional support resource for other Operations and Engineering Managers as needed. Drive process improvement initiatives and ensure consistent execution across engineering teams. Qualifications 1-5 years of experience in facilities engineering or operations management; prior supervisory experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Solid understanding of facilities systems and the ability to implement best practices in operations and maintenance. Demonstrated success in building client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
