Your Next Challenge
As a member of the Exploration team, you will lead geological teams to develop and execute all exploration programs as mandated by the EVP & VP Exploration while ensuring strategic alignment to Corporate Strategies and Objectives. Key areas of focus for this role will be the acquisition and development of key, high quality exploration opportunities that contribute to the corporate pipeline of properties.
Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting AEM’s social license to operate through establishing a collaborative relationship with the local communities of exploration activities, while acting as a Health & Safety ambassador for AEM.
- Designing and executing exploration programs and monitoring progress
- Optimize regional activities through the development of communications with regional exploration and project identification. Provide Guidance, Coaching & Transfer of Knowledge to regional teams.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge and relationships in the gold industry
- Implementing best practices and coordinating work programs
- Preparing and presenting exploration proposals and associated budgets
- Managing exploration budgets and reporting activities
- Acting as an ambassador for Agnico Eagle's social license to operate
- Collaborating on Health & Safety related processes
- Ensuring safe work practices and emergency preparedness
- Providing development opportunities for the team
- Collaborating with various departments and managing business partners
- Ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance
- Updating communities on exploration activities
What You Need To Succeed
- 20+ years of field experience with time spent in a senior leadership role
- University Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
- Solid understanding of all types of gold deposits and associated exploration tools and methods
- Strong communications skills to present findings clearly to stakeholders or professionals who do not have a background in this area
- Highly developed critical-thinking skills and sound observation and careful evaluation of data
- Proven interpersonal skills. Work as part of a team with geologists, engineers, technicians, and other scientists, from all international business units of the corporation
- Expert problem-solving skills. Requires the ability to analyze complex sources of data
- Business acumen in the mining industry
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the ability to work within the teleworking policy. Regular visits to exploration sites required.
