Project

You will be involved in a financial project focused on big data processing and analysis within the Hadoop ecosystem. The project aims to deliver scalable analytical solutions for key financial stakeholders by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and robust data pipelines.

Responsibilities You'll Have

• Create Scala/Spark jobs for data transformation and aggregation in line with complex business requirements
• Work in a challenging and agile environment with quick turnaround times and strict deadlines
• Perform unit tests on Scala code to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Raise Pull Requests (PR), trigger builds, and release JAR versions for deployment through Jenkins pipelines
• Participate actively in CI/CD processes, ensuring smooth and efficient code integration and delivery
• Peer-review code and ensure adherence to best practices and standards
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for any bugs reported and implement solutions
• Collaborate effectively within the Hadoop ecosystem
  
  

Expected competences and knowledge

• Strong experience in Scala development, particularly with Apache Spark
• Excellent understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem (Hive/HQL, Oozie)
• Familiarity with Jenkins and CI/CD concepts
• Proficiency in shell scripting and Git for version control
• Experience with Splunk for monitoring and troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of Python is considered a plus
