Summary of the Role

The Event Coordinator plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of events at the Pacific Community Center. This position supports the mission of the Center by fostering community engagement, promoting local resources, and delivering inclusive, well-organized events that reflect the diverse needs of our population.

Success in this role means consistently delivering well-attended, smoothly run events that stay within budget, engage the community, and reflect the values of the Pacific Community Center. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver, detail-oriented organizer, and enthusiastic ambassador for our programs and services.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee community events from concept to completion, including cultural celebrations, educational workshops, seasonal gatherings, and partner-sponsored activities.
  • Coordinate logistics such as venue setup, equipment rental, permits, catering, and staffing.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Manage event budgets, track expenses, and provide post-event reports.
  • Develop promotional content and collaborate with the marketing team for outreach via flyers, email, and social media.
  • Ensure all events are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with the Center’s mission.
  • Support the execution of photography, filming, or rental requests from external groups when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate event records and calendars, and report outcomes to leadership.
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Experience in event planning, community engagement, or nonprofit programming is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Comfortable with tools like Microsoft Office, Canva, or basic event software.
  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) are a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or related field preferred.
