Summary

The Evening Shift Supervisor provides support and services to adults living with complex mental health diagnoses in a residential treatment setting (Trivium New England's Averte program). The Evening Shift Supervisor oversees program operations during non-business hours to ensure shift plans and staff responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the residents' treatment needs and goals. The Evening Shift Supervisor functions as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, facilitating communication among team members and providing on-call support. This position reports to the Program Manager of Averte's Main House.

Essential Duties

This position performs, but is not limited to, the following essential functions:

  • Provides oversight of evening shift operations at Averte's 4 residential homes, including but not limited to program routines and shift plans, staffing assignments, completion of documentation, and essential communication.
  • Upholds systems designed to organize shift operations and ensure team members' follow-through on assigned responsibilities. Assists with the delegation and oversight of assigned staff responsibilities.
  • Ensures the communication and documentation at the beginning and end of each shift (i.e. shift change, shift report, other documentation, safety checks, checklists/task sheets) is conducted thoroughly and with quality.
  • Actively engages with residents and participates in programming. Ensures staff on shift are actively engaged with residents and in established programming. Collaborates with team members to deliver recreational and social activities for residents. Supports resident engagement in programming in alignment with each resident's treatment goals.
  • Supports the integration of treatment plan goals and objectives through ongoing oversight of shift operations and staff coaching.
  • Communicates with families and natural supports as needed.
  • Ensures incident notifications and documentation are carried out in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant policies and licensing regulations. Adheres to all emergency procedures.
  • Documents direct work with clients, communication with families and care coordination with collaterals. Adheres to all standards relevant to client medical records, including program procedures, agency policies, licensing regulations and best practice standards.
  • Works with program nurse and other team members to ensure client has adequate support with medications. Ensures staff compliance with medication administration protocols.
  • Upholds all systems relevant to resident and program funds.
  • Communications directly with Program Manager, all members of the Averte treatment team, and external care providers as needed to monitor the needs and services of each client.
  • Contributes effectively to a therapeutic milieu through consistent adherence to community expectations.
  • Utilizes all relevant technology platforms, including Datis, Relias, Outlook 360, NetSuite, and the EHR.
  • Serves as part of the residential department's on-call rotation. Provides on-call support to all 4 Averte houses during scheduled shifts.
  • Attends all mandatory training and staff meetings. If unable to attend, takes responsibility for communicating with Program Manager in advance and obtaining all relevant information provided during training/staff meeting.
  • Attends and provides input of all required staff orientations, staff meetings. Completes all required training functions in a successful and timely manner.
  • Complies and is aware of all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations that are required in this job.
  • Abides by all Company policies. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and without discrimination.
  • Complete other duties that may be assigned by supervisory personnel.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

To perform this job successfully, the individual must have the following experience and attributes:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years' experience in working in human services and/or mental health field
  • Demonstrates effective time management, prioritization, and coordinating satisfactory or above work outcomes and activities with others
  • Committed to clear communication, sharing ideas, and building and developing positive internal and external relationships
  • Demonstrates proficient computer literacy skills
  • Committed to self-improvement; ability to support and perform work through Company values
  • Valid Chauffeur's license and a driving record that is acceptable to Company auto insurance company
  • Valid motor vehicle license and driving record acceptable to the Company auto insurance guidelines

  • Working conditions are for a regular office/home environment. Noise level in the work environment is usually quirt to moderate.
  • Must communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must observe details at close range.
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access office equipment. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to travel between work sites to perform the essential functions of this job to support people served. May be required to travel and attend seminars/training or meetings occasionally which may require an overnight stay.
  • Provide moderate physical assistance to people served when needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds for various needs
