DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: E=Essential Duties Provide individual and small group specialized academic instruction for District students with disabilities E; Present activities that are developmentally appropriate for the students and are specially designed to conform with the student's IEP E; Provide identification, assessment and remediation to district students with special education needs E; Evaluate student academic and social growth; maintain appropriate records; prepare progress reports; communicate with parents/staff about student progress E; Observe and monitor children's behavior and development in their environment E; Coordinate paraprofessionals to work with special needs students within the classroom E; Supervise students in and out of the classroom E; Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: * Valid California Special Education teaching credential (moderate/severe) * Other valid California Teaching Credentials for core content instruction as mandated by NCLB.
