Independent construction estimator is seeking an apprentice or experienced estimator to work and or learn the craft of preparing construction estimates for the commercial drywall industry. Work would be part time to start while in training or full time with experience. Work would be at the office. Looking for a hard-working, focused individual with a keen eye and attention to detail; someone who wants to learn a lifelong skill.

I am a 30-plus year experienced construction professional who is becoming very busy and backed up on work.
Can you work with a computer using Microsoft 365 applications, primarily Word and Excel? Can you show up, be on time, with a desire to make a career for yourself?

I will train the right candidate for this job. This will grow to full time employment once you show that you have a grasp and show proficiency of the estimating process.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of a project, and evaluating the cost to take on that project.

Prepare estimates by performing quantity take-offs using industry specific software.

Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of construction principles, details and processes.
• Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans
• 3 or more years of construction experience preferred
