Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Estimator will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for public and private infrastructure projects in the King County Metro area. This role focuses on heavy civil construction, with work including earthwork, utilities, concrete flatwork, and structural components. You'll also contribute to strategic project selection, subcontractor coordination, and cost database maintenance.

- Actively contribute to and support a strong safety culture, ensuring all work reflects MidMountain’s commitment to safety excellence
- Review project plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors
- Identify strategic opportunities to pursue bids that align with company goals
- Attend pre-bid meetings to gather essential project information and clarify requirements
- Use estimating software (such as Bid2Win) and accounting cost history to support data-driven decision making
- Present bid strategies and cost breakdowns to senior leadership for input and alignment
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimate to execution
- Continuously evaluate market conditions and competitor activities
- Share industry knowledge and mentor junior staff to support internal growth and development
- Maintain organized and accessible estimating files and documentation for audit and review
- Assess risk, identify value-engineering opportunities, and propose cost-effective solutions
What You Bring
- 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil infrastructure construction (roads, utilities, concrete, and structural work)
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement methods (Design Build, GC/CM, GMAC, traditional public works)
- Experience with estimating software (Bid2Win preferred) and proficiency in Bluebeam
