Position Summary

The Estimator will assist in preparing estimates or proposals on all project procurement types through quantity takeoff, bid solicitation, document distribution, and document organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up and organize documents in takeoff software and LS Black Teams file structure.
• Distribute documents to internal and external partners as directed.
• Perform complete and accurate quantity takeoff surveys and provide an audit trail for all takeoffs.
• Perform quantity takeoff in both 2D and 3D environments.
• Subcontractor and Supplier (Vendor/Partners) Communications
• Solicit subcontractors and material vendors.
• Contact vendors to determine pursuit status.
• Actively recruit vendor participation for various LSB proposals and estimates.
• Help maintain LS Black bid solicitation software related to our existing and new vendor contact information, minority status, and union status.
• Read and interpret project specifications and plans.
• Follow Estimating / Preconstruction Core Processes as they relate to your job responsibilities and as directed by your supervisor and Directors of Preconstruction.
• Assist with administrative duties as directed.
• Assist in finalizing and tabulating comprehensive estimate documents with the estimating staff as needed.
• Interact with subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Attend internal meetings per Core Processes as directed by the lead Estimator on a project.

• Assist in subcontractor bid leveling and buyout process if needed.
• Attend Pre-bid meetings as needed.
• Remain current with technology and changes in the construction industry.

Required

• 0 years of construction and estimating experience
• (2) year associate degree in Estimating or Construction Management.
• Strong work ethic, loyalty, trustworthiness, honesty, and team player.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
