Estimator
Position Overview
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring that all bids reflect the true scope of work and materials required. This role involves working closely with project managers, architects, and clients to understand project specifications and deliver high-quality estimates that drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects
- Conduct quantity takeoffs for materials and labor
- Collaborate with project managers and architects to gather project specifications
- Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner
- Utilize software tools such as Procore, PlanSwift, and Bluebeam for bid preparation
- Analyze project costs and market conditions to ensure competitive bidding
- Provide support in budget planning and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain organized records of all estimates and bid submissions
- Assist in the evaluation of subcontractor bids and proposals
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimator in commercial construction
- Strong knowledge of interiors, including drywall, flooring, ceilings, and finishes
- Familiarity with bid preparation, quantity takeoff, and cost control practices
- Experience using estimating software such as Procore, Stack, PlanSwift, or similar tools
- Understanding of commercial projects and construction processes
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
