Summary

Job Title: EV Estimator

Location: Remote working – UK-wide offices

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000

Contract Type: Permanent

Reporting to: Senior Bid Manager


Job Purpose:

To deliver accurate, competitive, cost-effective, and margin-driven estimates and customer pricing for EV installation projects and through-life support services. The role supports the commercial success of the EV business by providing detailed costing analysis, ensuring financial scrutiny, and acting as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on pricing, profitability, and the cost base.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing options for high-profile EV installation projects and support services, managing a complex supply chain of hardware/software suppliers, energy connection providers, and electrical and civil subcontractors.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to produce commercially tailored and competitive costings and pricing solutions.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Commercial teams to source and manage supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Work closely with project and design teams to ensure cost feasibility, accuracy, and commercial alignment.
  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives and cost-saving strategies that support the successful delivery of the EV Business Plan and Commercial KPIs.
  • Support internal reviews and validation of cost and pricing elements related to customer proposals, project variations, and ongoing service delivery.
  • Act as a pricing, profitability, and cost base subject matter expert for the business, providing trusted advice to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure cost and price elements of proposals meet high-quality standards and align with client expectations.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary internal and external teams, from site level to executive stakeholders, to drive commercially sound decision-making.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Quantity Surveying.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within the M&E, Construction, EV, Installations, or Energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and electrical systems, including relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with a commitment to continuous improvement and transparent cost/pricing practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage deadlines, and prioritise multiple workstreams.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across technical and executive teams.
