Job Summary
We are seeking an Mid-Level Estimator to join our Preconstruction Department in Charlotte, NC. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and motivated individual looking to grow their career in construction estimating. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of projects, working closely with the Preconstruction Manager, Director of Preconstruction and other team members.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates for multifamily and mixed-use construction projects.
• Analyze drawings, designs, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Request and review subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with the preconstruction team to identify potential cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options.

• Tracks project bid status, upcoming project opportunities, follows up on proposal submissions.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, historical cost data, and bid tracking information.
• Participate in bid reviews, sub meetings, and project planning discussions.
• Support the development of preliminary budgets and conceptual estimates.
• Assist in preparing bid proposals and related documentation.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in multifamily construction
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook);
• Experience with construction management/preconstruction software: Procore and Bluebeam
• Understanding of constructability, delivery models, and construction document management.
• Scheduling & Cost Management: Skilled in timeline management, from initial project planning through execution.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel travel across offices and markets as needed.
