Overview
We're looking for a sharp, experienced, and proactive Sales Project Manager to lead the charge in pursuing and managing commercial and industrial coatings projects. If you've got a strong background in coatings, love the hunt for new opportunities, and know your way around a job site with a tape measure and takeoff software, you might be exactly who we're looking for.
This role is a mix of boots-on-the-ground fieldwork, relationship-building, and project leadership. You'll be responsible for identifying and securing new coatings opportunities, preparing precise estimates, and help manage the project from start to finish to ensure quality results that reflect our high standards.
This role isn't for the faint of heart or the finger-pointer type. We need someone who doesn't hesitate to jump in wherever needed-estimating, site walks, paperwork, job site, whatever it takes. - Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development - Actively pursue new commercial and industrial coatings opportunities. Build relationships with general contractors, facility managers, and other decision-makers.
- Estimating & Takeoffs - Perform on-site field measurements and use takeoff software (such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar) to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
- Client Engagement - Understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions that demonstrate our value and expertise.
- Contract Management - Negotiate with clients and subcontractors to secure profitable, fair, and clearly scoped contracts.
- Project Management - Lead all phases of coatings projects-from proposal to punch list-ensuring they're completed on time, within budget, and with impeccable quality.
- Documentation & Reporting - Use Bluebeam, Company Cam or similar software for documentation, including drawings, specifications, revisions, and daily reports.
- Collaboration - Coordinate with vendors, clients, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Experience in Commercial & Industrial Coatings - This isn't a learn-on-the-job situation. You've walked the walk and can confidently estimate, sell, and manage coatings projects.
- Field Measuring Proficiency - Able to accurately measure field conditions to scope and estimate projects with precision.
- Takeoff Software Skills - Proficient in software like **Bluebeam**, **PlanSwift**, or similar for digital takeoffs and estimating.
- Strong Negotiator - You can close deals, manage client expectations, and navigate contracts like a pro.
- Project Management Background - Proven ability to run multiple coatings projects while keeping quality, budget, and deadlines in check.
- Excellent Communication- Verbal and written skills that inspire trust, confidence, and clear direction with internal and external teams.
