Job Overview:
The ERP Business Analyst will initially work as a member of our ERP deployment team and will post-deployment assist with continuous improvement and future phasing of functionality, as well as next level of support after key users. They will partner with our business users to understand requirements; help design business process and system solutions; configure where applicable; assist with data, testing, training, and user security; and provide support where needed between the business and vendor. Primary Responsibilities
* Drive development and implementation of system-related business processes on our new ERP solution (Microsoft Business Central) across locations and functional areas, with a focus on creating and improving our business processes, data, and technology capabilities
* Collaborate with the business to understand requirements and with our deployment partner on solution design, configuration, and support as needed
* Assist with developing and executing test scripts to verify controls, security, and usability with business community (both unit testing and user acceptance testing)
* Assist in the development of user documentation and training
* Assist with data migration and related data quality activities, as well as setting up user security
* Ensure organizational readiness and commitment to implementation, ongoing optimization, value realization activities, and enhancements.
* After key users, next point of escalation for assistance related to overall ERP functionality and collaboration with vendor as needed
* Post ERP deployment: identify, lead, and drive optimization/continuous improvement activities to derive value, collaborating with subject matter experts and leadership across the business. Continuous improvement activities will be defined and prioritized on an ongoing basis as we address further phases of functionality maturity, which may include reporting/analytics. Many projects will be cross-functional and based on business impact.
* Post ERP deployment: lead ongoing enhancement and upgrade activities; system integration from potential M&A activity; and growth projects. Ensure functionality is appropriately tested and trained.
Education/Experience:
* College degree in Business, MIS, or related field
* Minimum 5 years of business experience and/or IT, with experience in at least 1 of the following areas: sales/purchasing, logistics/warehousing, supply chain, finance
* Previous experience with ERP in a distribution environment desired
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong understanding of how processes, data, and technology can enable problems and opportunities
* Capable of breaking down complex issues and identifying key drivers; can identify cross-functional upstream and downstream impacts
* Demonstrated experience with project work and change management in demanding and dynamic environments, with tight deadlines
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to adhere to deadlines with reliability and accuracy
* Proven ability to collaborate, lead, facilitate, and communicate with individuals across a broad range of education, experience, and functional spectrums
* Strong ability and appetite to learn and apply new concepts
* Ability to handle quick decision-making and influence others
* Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central preferred, or comparable ERP
* Knowledge of reporting and analytics tools desired (Power BI, JetReports); proficiency with Microsoft Office products expected (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
