DESCRIPTION The Art Supervisor will be responsible for executing and managing visual direction along with the Director’s vision. They creatively manage the artistic team creating the design for sets, backgrounds and props. They’re also responsible for the light and color design of the movie. They need to achieve the highest level of excellence without sacrificing the timeline of the film or the health of the team. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES Work closely with the Director to determine visual style across every scene. Creatively manage work across Sets, Backgrounds & Props Artists and Color Artists to ensure the team completes work up to par with the Director’s vision. This includes assigning work to artists based on their ability and performance. Responsible for ensuring designs are executable in animation. Must balance design decisions with implications on the animation pipeline. Globally responsible for quality control across the concept artists in the Art Department. They will work closely with the Department Managers to optimize team schedules and scene assignments to achieve master scheduled deliverables. Responsible for acquiring direction assets for the Art Department technicians. For example: get explicit photographic or styling references for a specific background. If your team is flying blind, you are there to give them vision again. Continue to work as the film goes into production to ensure animated scenes remain on design. This includes, but isn’t limited to, paint overs, background feedback and approval, lighting direction, texture direction, and color direction. Work alongside the Production Designer as artistic continuity watchdogs across animation teams to ensure animation from different animation studios matches. REQUERIMENTS More than 5 years of experience in artistic departments, specially in animated films. Strong visual design and color skills Artist management experience Ability to communicate in work from home environment Team management experience and previous projects finished Knowledge of the needs of a feature film production Excellent abilities presenting feedback, simple and exhaustive Deep knowledge on how design affects the animation pipeline Ability to deal with problems and find solutions Deep knowledge of the software packages involved in design for animated feature films Remote work
