This Opportunity WSP has a career opportunity for a Environmental Project Manager with our South Jordan, UT team. We are seeking a motivated professional with a strong track record of team management, business development, client service management and project management to manage and grow the environmental team in South Jordan, Utah. This individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with our environmental leads across the Mountain Pacific Region and U.S. WSP's Utah operation provides a broad range of services in engineering and environmental sciences including environmental site assessment and remediation, water resources, environmental planning, compliance and permitting, geotechnical design, and transportation design. The successful candidate will have experience in consulting, selling, managing and implementing environmental projects in the Government, Industrial/Commercial, Mining, Oil & Gas, Energy and Transportation sectors. Your Impact * Manage staff and project teams for environmental projects including oversight of subcontractors and sampling of soil, soil vapor, sediment, surface water and groundwater in accordance with state and Federal regulations and generally accepted protocols. * Manage environmental projects involving site characterization, remedial design, and environmental compliance, and responsible for ensuring that deliverables, schedules and budgets are achieved. * Developing and maintaining communication channels with key clients, stakeholders, and internal personnel to ensure that work flows smoothly as well as providing first class consultancy services. * Business development to identify/develop new clients for our environmental business including networking outside and inside WSP. * Provide technical review for projects to comply with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements and related specifications. * Will to travel to project sites primarily in Utah and occasionally across the mountain states of the West. Minimal overnight travel. * Mentoring and training junior staff. * Collaboration and participation in technical discussions with team members. * Manage proposal preparation including innovative technical approaches and competitive pricing. Will prepare and perform client presentations. * Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures Who You Are * B.S. or M.S. degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or other related fields desired * PG or PE in state of Utah desired. * 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility. * Strong background providing environmental consulting services to clients in the Government, Industrial/Commercial, Mining, Oil & Gas, Energy and Transportation sectors. * Demonstrated scientific or engineering expertise with Federal, State and Local environmental regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with field investigations associated with environmental site assessments, site remediation, field management, sampling etc. * Project Management experience including deliverables, schedules and budgets Must be a self-starter, team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills * Business development experience and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships as well as experience in proposal preparation. * Excellent computer skills including proficiency with the use of standard software packages including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint * Ability to travel to project sites primarily in Utah and occasionally across the mountain states of the West. Minimal overnight travel * Must pass background check and must have driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
